Specialized Care for Every Challenge

From torn ACLs to chronic pain, our evidence-based approach treats the root cause, not just the symptoms. Every session is one-on-one with a doctor of physical therapy.

Sports Rehabilitation

Torn ACL. Rotator cuff strain. Rolled ankle on the trail. Whatever sidelined you, we build a recovery plan around your sport, your body, and your timeline. Our therapists have treated Division I athletes and weekend warriors alike — the standard of care is the same.

Post-Surgery Recovery

Your surgeon got you through the operation. We get you through everything after. Personalized rehab protocols for knee replacements, ACL reconstructions, shoulder repairs, and spinal procedures — always one-on-one with your therapist, never handed off to an aide.

Dry Needling

Chronic muscle tension, trigger points, and stubborn pain that won't respond to stretching alone. Our certified dry needling practitioners target the source of restriction to restore range of motion and reduce pain — often in a single session.

Performance Training

You don't have to be injured to benefit from physical therapy. We work with athletes who want to move better, lift stronger, and compete longer. Movement screening, corrective exercise programming, and performance optimization built around your goals.

Injury Prevention

The best injury is the one that never happens. We use functional movement screening, gait analysis, and sport-specific assessments to identify weaknesses before they become problems. Popular with runners, climbers, and CrossFit athletes across Boulder.

Chronic Pain Management

If you've been living with persistent pain — back, neck, hips, knees — and nothing has worked, we take a different approach. We treat the root cause, not just the symptoms. Evidence-based manual therapy combined with progressive exercise to help you move without pain again.

About Dr. Mitchell

Dr. Ryan Mitchell, DPT, OCS

Founder & Lead Physical Therapist

Dr. Ryan Mitchell founded Alpine PT after 15 years working with Division I athletes and Olympic hopefuls. A Boulder native and avid trail runner, he built Alpine to bring sports-medicine-level care to everyone — from weekend warriors to competitive athletes.

After watching too many patients fall through the cracks of insurance-driven 15-minute appointment slots, Ryan left a prestigious hospital system to build something different — a clinic where treatment plans are as unique as the people following them. One of our first patients was a 68-year-old trail runner told she'd never run again after knee surgery. Eight weeks of targeted rehab later, she finished the Bolder Boulder 10K. That's what we do.

"Movement is medicine — we're just here to prescribe the right dose."
— Dr. Ryan Mitchell

What Our Patients Say

Real results from real people. Here's what our patients have to say about their experience at Alpine Physical Therapy.

"After my ACL surgery, I thought my hiking days were over. The team at Alpine had me back on the trails in 4 months — ahead of schedule."

Mark T. Boulder, CO

"I've been to three other PT clinics in Boulder. Alpine is the only one where I actually see my therapist for the full session, not an aide. The difference in results speaks for itself."

Jennifer R. Louisville, CO
